THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker AN Shamsir’s car was involved in an accident at Panoor Junction. The accident occurred when the speaker’s car was traveling from Thalassery towards Kallikandi, and another car accidentally hit it. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The collision struck the bonnet of the speaker’s vehicle. Just after the pilot vehicle passed, the speaker’s car was hit by a car coming from the wrong direction. The home guard present at the scene had signaled the car driver responsible for the accident not to proceed, but the driver ignored the signal and carelessly moved the car forward.
Moreover, the traffic lamp at the location was also not in working condition, which was also a reason for the accident.
Despite the incident, the Speaker continued his journey in the same car to attend the wedding of Muslim League State Vice President Pottankandy Abdulla’s brother’s daughter in Kallikandy from Thalassery.
The police will investigate whether there was a security breach in the incident.
