THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major reshuffle within the Kerala police department, State Intelligence Chief T.K Vinod Kumar, IPS, has been reassigned to the role of Director of Vigilance Department. As a replacement, Manoj Abraham, IPS, will now take over as the new Intelligence Chief.
Moreover, K. Padmakumar, IPS, a DGP rank officer, is appointed as the new Chief of the Fire and Rescue department. ADGP Balram Kumar Upadhyaya, IPS, who currently heads the state police headquarters, will assume responsibility for the jails in Kerala.
In a significant promotion, Kochi city Police Commissioner K Sethuraman, IPS, has been elevated to the position of North Zone IG. Meanwhile, A. Akbar, IPS, will succeed Sethuraman as the new Kochi city police commissioner.
ADGP M.R Ajith Kumar will take charge of the various battalions in the state.
