Thiruvananthapuram: The constituent parties are demanding an early convening of the LDF meeting due to their dissatisfaction with the Finance Department’s approach. They insist that the meeting take place before Onam.
The main grievance is that the Finance Department is not allocating the requested funds to various departments, citing a severe financial crisis. This issue came to light when the LDF received complaints about the Finance Department’s treatment of other departments, including the Food Department, which is governed by the CPI.
While the Finance Department temporarily resolved the Food Department’s complaint, parties such as Janata Dal (S) and NCP remain discontented with the situation. Additionally, it has been noticed that the Finance Department exercises strict control over transactions through the treasury.
The constituent departments are facing challenges in meeting their daily operational expenses. Allegations have emerged that the Finance Department is adopting a more cautious approach towards these departments in contrast to its dealings with departments managed by the CPI(M).
Given this situation, the constituent parties are pressing for an LDF meeting to be scheduled before Onam to address this matter. However, the CPI(M) has not yet responded to this demand.
