Actor Salim Kumar ridiculed the CPI(M) for Speaker AN Shamseer’s anti-Hindu comments. Amidst the ongoing conflict between myth and reality, Salim Kumar suggested that the government should refer to the Devaswom Minister as the ‘Minister for Myth’ (‘Mythism Minister’) and the funds received from devotees as offerings to the deity as ‘Myth Money’ (‘Mithumoney’). He expressed these thoughts via a Facebook post.
He said, “Changes should start from the Government itself. When the conflict between myth and reality is prevailing, my opinion is that, for the success of reality, the Devaswom Department Minister should be called the Mythism Department Minister and the money received through offerings from the devotees should be called Mythmoney.”
Despite the growing protests and criticism over Shamseer’s highly offensive anti-Hindu remarks, the party leadership remains resolute in their stance and refuses to issue an apology. The party secretary has made it clear that Shamseer will not step down from his position as the Speaker, and will not be asked to apologize.
As the demonstrations against Shamseer’s remarks gain momentum, MV Govindan further sparked controversy by asserting that Ganesha is merely a myth. However, when asked about whether Allah is also considered a myth, Govindan responded that not all beliefs are myths. This apparent double standard has led to even more criticism as believers question the CPI(M)’s consistency in their approach.
