THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Supreme Court lawyer Koshy Jacob has filed a complaint with the President of India, alleging that Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer made derogatory remarks against the Hindu community, thereby violating his oath of office.
According to the complaint, during a program named ‘Vidya Jyothi’ at a government school in Ernakulam district on July 21, Shamseer delivered a speech that deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. In his controversial statement, the Speaker referred to the Hindu God Ganesha as a mere myth in the era of artificial intelligence. Moreover, Shamseer was reported to have criticized Hindu mythologies, accusing them of promoting superstitions.
The complaint emphasizes that these statements made by the Speaker were perceived as promoting hatred and disrespect towards the Hindu community.
As a result, the Supreme Court lawyer filed the complaint to address the alleged anti-Hindu remarks made by AN Shamseer during the mentioned event.
