Thiruvananthapuram: Goa Governor, PS Sreedharan Pillai, criticized the media in Kerala and said that the ethnic conflict in Manipur between two ethnic groups was changed into a communal issue. In Kerala the ethnic conflict was changed into communal conflict between Hindus and Christians.
The Goa Governor said that Christians comprise 90% of the Kuki and Naga tribes. There is no possibility for communal riots to occur there.
PS Sreedharan Pillai also asked the media to be more careful in reporting the conflict and to be aware of the situation there.
He also reminded that on July 26th the Manipur Bishop had revealed that the conflict in Manipur is not communal. However, it did not became a news.
The Goa Governor also said that political Kerala did injustice to Congress leader Oommen Chandy and said that he was hounded severely in his life.
