Kannur: The BJP State President, K Surendran, said that the party will intensify its protest against Speaker, AN Shamseer, for his anti-Hindu remarks. He said that on August 8 the Yuva Morcha will stage a mass protest in front of the Legislative Assembly. And on August 10, the BJP will launch a ‘nama japa yatra’ or a mantra chanting protest. Surendran said peaceful but strong protests will continue till the Speaker gives an apology for his remarks.
K Surendran also questioned the Congress’ stand on the issue. He asked if the Congress party will attend the Legislative Assembly which will be convened under the Chairmanship of the Speaker. The Congress party must make it clear if it intends to boycott the Speaker for his communal remarks.
He said that during the Sabarimala protests, the Congress stand was similarly weak and rejected any form of a joint protest with the Congress.
The BJP leader said that if Minister Muhammed Riyas has the power to correct the anti-Hindu remarks then things are clear. It is now clear that Riyas is controlling the party and the government. Surendran said that under the leadership of Riyas a communal polarization is taking place in Kerala. The aim of this polarization is aimed at getting Muslim votes.
K Surendran also said that CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan’s U-turn in the issue is to fool the people. The BJP leader also demanded to know the response of the Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan.
He also asked if MV Govindan is just a rubber stamp in the party. The BJP leader question how did Muhammed Riyas get the audacity to say more than what the CPI(M) State Secretary said. He questioned what the government’s stand is in the issue. Is it the stand taken the by son-in-law or the stand taken by party secretary. PWD Minister, Muhammed Riyas is also the son-in-law of the Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan.
The BJP State President openly revealed that the CPI(M) State Secretary has no respect in his own party.
