Thiruvananthapuram: The General Secretary of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP), Vellappally Natesan, said that Speaker, AN Shamseer, must apologize for his anti-Hindu remarks. Vellappally Natesan said that the Speaker’s word sparks communal thinking. He asked the Speaker to withdraw his statement and tender an apology.
Vellappally Natesan also asked if AN Shamseer is ready to intervene in other religions and questioned why he did not speak about his own religion. Vellappally made these statements while attending the Guru Keerthi Award organized by Kayamkulam unit of SNDP Yogam.
The SNDP General Secretary said that Shamseer must withdraw his statements before giving opportunity to others to gain from this issue. The Speaker must withdraw his statement and tender an apology. He asked if a Speaker can say something like this. What all issues occurred in the communist party because of this issue? Even the party secretary had to correct himself.
Vellappally reminded that Hindus pray to Lord Ganapathi before starting any auspicious activity. If Shamseer eschews his ego and tenders an apology, then his image and value will only increase.
Vellappally Natesan said that Shamseer did not speak anything about his community but spoke about Hindus. With that, there occurred coordination among Hindus. Just withdraw your mistake and tell what you said was wrong. Religious harmony is not a one-way traffic.
The SNDP leader also said that he would not say anything to be in unison with what others say and stressed that he will say what needs to be said.
