Kasaragod: Anti-Hindu remarks are becoming frequent and consistent among the CPI(M) leaders. After Speaker AN Shamseer’s insult of Lord Ganapathi and holy Puranas, the CPI(M) strong man from Kannur, P Jayarajan, has taken on Lord Parashuram to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Interestingly, the CPI(M) leaders are only targeting Hindu deities and keeping silent on the religious beliefs of other communities.
P Jayarajan in a speech has insulted Lord Parashuram and the story of the origin of the Kerala coast. He made these insulting remarks at a speech in Kasaragod yesterday.
In the speech he says that Lord Parashuram is a made up story and the story of the origin of Kerala is a story made up by Brahmins. He said that the Brahmins cooked up the story to enslave the people and that the story says that Brahmins have the rights on all the land in Kerala. He added that this story is still propagated as a myth.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Assembly, AN Shamseer, said that Lord Ganapathi is a myth and that these beliefs and the Puranas hinder the progress of the society. However, the Speaker also kept silent about the beliefs of other religions.
The Speaker was supported by all the CPI(M) leaders and the party secretary, MV Govindan came in front of the press and asked if Lord Ganapathi is not a myth, then what is it? However, when a widespread backlash was raised by the Hindu community, the party secretary corrected his words.
However, the communist party’s stand has not changed in the issue. The Speaker nor his party is ready to apologize to the Hindu community or are ready to withdraw the anti-Hindu statement.
