Pathanamthitta: Father and son, attacked by DYFI gang over public nuisance dispute at Pathanamthitta district. Father and son, both members of the BJP, were attacked by DYFI members.
The incident occurred last night in Thadiyoor, Pathanamthitta district. Four members belonging to DYFI attacked Sasi and his son Akshay for questioning them about drug use in a public place and causing a public nuisance.
Both Sasi and his son were seriously injured. Sasi was admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital, while his son was admitted to Kozhencherry Hospital.
The four members attacked the father and son when they questioned them about using drugs in a public place. They used a knife to stab and an iron rod for attacking. Local residents mentioned that the gang was armed with weapons. The locals also allege that the gang members have been involved in several instances of public nuisance and have threatened the residents.
Following the incident, the accused were taken into custody yesterday.
