Thiruvananthapuram: NCP Kuttanad MLA Thomas K Thomas has registered a formal complaint, stating that his life is in danger. He submitted this complaint to both the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police (DGP). Thomas, who holds the position of a party MLA, has alleged that there exists a plot to eliminate him . He contends that this plot is connected to a supposed plan to divide the ministry, which he believes is being orchestrated by NCP state president PC Chacko and his associates. The ministry under consideration is the same one that Minister AK Saseendran currently occupies. However, minister AK Saseendran has refuted any knowledge of such an arrangement.
The internal conflict within the state unit of the NCP is escalating dramatically. The most recent development emerged as Thomas K Thomas, one of the party’s two MLAs, lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police (DGP), citing concerns about threats to his life.
Thomas K Thomas publicly acknowledges his disagreements with state president PC Chacko. He affirms that there existed an agreement indicating that he would assume the ministerial role currently held by AK Saseendran after two and a half years. However, Minister Saseendran has refuted these claims, asserting that no such understanding was in place and that there were no indications from their NCP national leadership.
Should the ministerial position not be transferred as agreed, there is a potential risk of division within the NCP state branch, mirroring the situation that transpired at the national level. According to MLA Thomas K Thomas, the concept of defection wouldn’t be applicable if one of the two MLAs were to defect.
