Thiruvananthapuram: Vasudeva Prabhu, one of the earliest activists of the RSS in Kochi, has passed away at the age of 87. He breathed his last at his son’s residence in Mysuru yesterday morning. He played a significant role in expanding the reach of the RSS from its initial focus on the TD area of Ernakulam to other regions.
Having retired as a Principal Scientist at the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Vasudeva Prabhu assumed the role of unit president for the organization named ‘Swadeshi Science Movement’. He was also actively engaged in the activities of the Bharatiya Vichara Kendra.
Dr. Vasudeva Prabhu dedicated himself to the Sangh Parivar, both during the period when the RSS faced limited acceptance and later, when it gained broader recognition. Dr. Vasudeva Prabhu, along with his wife Saraswati (formerly employed at FACT), has been residing in Mysore with their son Dr. Somnath and his family for several years now.
