Kottayam: The Nair Service Society (NSS) has said in its mouthpiece ‘Services’ that though the community has adopted an equal distance from all the parties in the Parliament election, the NSS will support the devotees of the State.
The community says it supports religious beliefs, ancient practices and traditions of Sabarimala and reiterated its commitment to the cause of the devotees.
The NSS said that to win the elections, the parties are using Sabarimala issue. However, it is up to the devotees to decide which of the candidates are worthy enough to get their votes.
Earlier, the Nair Service Society had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing 10% reservations for those who are economically weak and belonging to the forward castes. It was implemented without harming any other communities’ reservation quota.
Nair Service Society is a forward community in Kerala with a huge presence in the political, cultural and economic life of the State. The organization played a prominent role in the struggle for maintaining the traditions at the holy shrine of Sabarimala.
