Pathanamthitta: In a relief to NDA candidate for Kozhikode, Adv. Prakash Babu, has been allowed by the Ranni court to sign his nomination papers in front of jailer. He is currently held at Kottarakkara jail in connection with blocking a woman from entering the holy shrine of Sabarimala.
Prakash Babu, the BJP Yuva Morcha State President, was remanded by the Ranni Judicial First Class Magistrate Court after his bail was rejected by the court.
The youth leader was in the forefront of the protests against entry of women at Sabarimala. The Kerala government, in a bid to quell the peaceful protests of the Hindu community took stringent actions against the leaders spearheading the agitations.
Prakash Babu was charged with non-bailable offence. He was arrested when he surrendered at the Pamba Police Station. He was remanded to 14 days by the Ranni court when he was produced by the police.
