Kochi: Complaint filed to Vigilance against Veena Vijayan demanding an investigation into the monthly payment controversy. Girish Babu, a resident of Kalamasery Ernakulam, lodged a complaint with Vigilance seeking an investigation against the political leaders and Veena Vijayan who took money from the CMRL company.
The complaint has now been filed along with the order passed by the Settlement Board of the Income Tax Department in the tax dispute between CMRL and the Income Tax Department. The complaint was filed demanding an investigation under the Prevention of Corruption Act, against the political leaders and Veena Vijayan, mentioned in the order.
Complainant also demands investigation against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, political leaders Ramesh Chennithala, PK Kunhalikutty and VK Ibrahim Kunj, who were paid by the CMRL company. A copy of the complaint has been given to many including the Governor. Girish Babu also stated that if the vigilance director does not take further action, he will approach the court.
The Governor will intervene only after the legal aspects of the findings of the Income Tax Department are examined. After assessing the details, the Governor will seek an explanation from the Chief Minister on the monthly payment controversy
While responding to the media the other day, the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan had stated that the monthly payment controversy is a serious one. He later asked for details related to the controversy.
