Communist government harassing hero of Sabarimala by slapping 240 cases to prevent him from contesting Lok Sabha election

Pathanamthitta: The communist government, fearing the rise of K. Surendran, is destroying the ethos of democracy by slapping 240 cases against him just before the elections.

Hitting back at the government’s move, Surendran said that he will overcome all the odds because he is fighting for Ayyappa.

K. Surendran, who is the BJP candidate from Pathanamthitta constituency where the holy shrine of Sabarimala is situated, was earlier arrested and kept in custody for weeks in connection with Sabarimala protests.

Government used its power to restrain peaceful protests in Sabarimala and many Hindu leaders had to face the wrath of the Communist government.

Surendran, who filed his nominations a few days back, is making a huge wave in the constituency with young, old, men and women flocking towards his meetings and road shows.

His unprecedented popularity for a BJP leader in the constituency has made both the Communist and Congress fronts jittery. This is why the government is using all its state power to suppress his prospects at the polls.

Surendran said that he has not received any summons regarding the 240 cases that are charged against him.

BJP State President Sreedharan Pillai said that there is a conspiracy behind the government’s move of not sending summons to Surendran. It was aimed at disqualifying his nomination just before the last date.

However, Surendran is planning to submit another nomination mentioning all the new cases registered against him.
