Kottayam: Speaking out on the ongoing monthly payment controversy, EP Jayarajan, the convener of LDF, emphasised that an innocent girl is under undue attack. Jayarajan staunchly asserted that the criticisms directed towards Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena, are in fact aimed at the Chief Minister himself. He clarified that the funds Veena received from the controversial black sand company, CMRL, were solely designated as consultancy compensation. Jayarajan fervently advocated against personal attacks on Veena.
“Shouldn’t it be considered consultancy?” Jayarajan questioned, citing the numerous consultancy firms dedicated to rejuvenating our non-operational industries. He highlighted the presence of forward-thinking individuals in Kerala who are employing contemporary technologies to rectify operational inefficiencies within these factories. Jayarajan pointed out that such advisory roles command substantial compensation, a practice that is widespread among thousands of professionals. In his view, the ongoing controversy appears to be a calculated effort to undermine the Chief Minister’s position. He further questioned the rationale behind targeting an innocent girl like Veena for actions that were solely part of her professional responsibilities.
