THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The protests continue over Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker A. N. Shamseer’s anti-Hindu remarks. The Faith Protection Committee has organized a ‘Namajapa Yatra’ (peaceful mantra chanting procession) to voice their dissent against what they perceive as an insult to Hindu beliefs by the Left-Jihadi alliance.
Scheduled for today, the namajapa yatra (peaceful mantra chanting procession) is set to commence its journey from Palayam to Pazhavangadi in Thiruvananthapuram. The procession will be attended by several social activists and diverse community leaders, led by Advaithashramam Swami Chidananda Puri.
Amidst the backdrop of ongoing anti-Hindu sentiments and offensive comments from CPI(M) leaders, the protests are gaining momentum. There is a strong demand for an apology from Shamseer due to his perceived anti-Hindu remark.
The Kerala Dharmacharya Sabha (KDS), an organization comprised of various Hindu ashrams and prominent monks in Kerala, will convene at the Amritanandamayi Ashram in Kaimanam. They will address the challenges posed by the continuous incidents of insults directed at the Hindu community.
Numerous Hindu organizations are also slated to participate in the yatra.
Earlier, community activists had demanded an apology from Shamseer and organized peaceful Namajapa processions. Notably, both the BJP and Hindu Aikya Vedi have filed cases against Shamseer for his allegedly provocative anti-Hindu remarks.
However, the government has not taken any action against Shamseer’s provocative speech; instead, cases have been filed against thousands of people who participated in the ‘Namajapa Yatra’ (peaceful mantra chanting procession) last month.
