Kozhikode: Two doctors and two nurses at the Kozhikode Medical College will be charged for leaving a scissor in the stomach of a patient during operation. The Superintend of the hospital, who is currently an accused in the case, will be let off. A report concerning this will be submitted in the court by the investigation team.
Also, the Kozhikode City Police decided not to appeal against the District Medical Board’s decision, which said that it cannot be proved that the scissor got trapped in the victim’s stomach at Kozhikode Medical College based on an MRI Scan.
A scissor got trapped in the stomach of Harshina during the operation of her third delivery. She had begun a protest in front of the Secretariat to get justice in the case. She and her family are planning to move the High Court against the decision of the Medical Board, which rejected the police report in the case.
There is also a strong allegation that a senior doctor, who was part of the Medical Board, was replaced by a junior consultant to sabotage the investigation.
