THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MLA KB Ganesh Kumar has publicly addressed the issue of road development in the Pathanapuram constituency, expressing that no PWD road projects have been permitted in the area. He emphasized the importance of Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas displaying courtesy and consideration in this matter. Ganesh Kumar also remarked that Riyas seems to be overlooking his concerns.
During the inauguration ceremony of the Ela-Pattamala road in Pathanapuram, Ganesh Kumar conveyed that he is not seeking recognition as a film actor, but Ganesh emphasized that the minister should show politeness and acknowledge that he held the position of minister two decades ago.
Ganesh Kumar highlighted that the state Public Works Department (PWD) has not approved even a mere 100 meters of road construction within the Pathanapuram block throughout the current year. He further added that Minister Riyas has not been responsive to the requests put forth by seasoned representatives like himself.
Notably, Ganesh Kumar underlined the rarity of individuals who have secured victory five times in consecutive terms within the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He cited examples such as VD Satheesan, Roshy Augustine, and Kovoor Kunjumon, in addition to himself, following the passing of Oommen Chandy. Ganesh Kumar stressed the significance of honoring such leaders and appealed for the PWD Minister to acknowledge their contributions. He asserted that while being recognized as a film actor is not essential, acknowledging his prior tenure as a minister holds importance.
Ganesh Kumar expressed his gratitude towards former Minister G. Sudhakaran for his role in authorizing funds for road development. In response, he noted the lack of allocation of road development funds to the Pathanapuram constituency, shedding light on the existing disparity in resource allocation.
