Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State Secretary, S Suresh, has made a startling revelation that he was targeted by terrorists. The accused in the Kollam Collectorate bomb explosion had confessed this to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) earlier. The BJP leader revealed this information after giving his statement before the Kollam District Session court in the case.
The terrorist had sent a message to S Suresh mentioning the dates of bomb explosions in various courts, including the court in Kollam. In the message, sent to the BJP leader on October 4, 2016, the terrorist had warned of attacks across India and demanded the complete withdrawal of the military from Kashmir.
S Suresh said that he was silent till now considering the negative impact on the case if he had revealed the evidence in public earlier.
The BJP leader in his social media post said that he had received a message on October 4, 2016, titled ‘In the Name of Allah…! THE BASE MOVEMENT’. S Suresh was the BJP District President during that time. The message demanded a complete withdrawal of the military from Kashmir and warned of attacks across India. The message also contained dates of bomb blasts in courts situated in Chitoor, Kollam, Mysore, and Nelloor.
S Suresh said that during those times he had many threats from terror organizations such as these. The NIA and Kerala Police probed the case and arrested the accused. S Suresh was cross examined as the sixteenth witness in the case of bomb blast in Kollam court.
Suresh continued that he is revealing the details because many began to enquire about the issue after the media reported about him disposing before the court as witness in the case.
He said that he was under the security surveillance of the Kerala police on the suggestion of the NIA. A patrol beat box is also erected in front of his house.
The BJP leader said that the NIA officers outlined the reasons why he was targeted by the terrorists. One reason was that the BJP got its first MLA from Thiruvananthapuram, another was that BJP became the main opposition at the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Another reason was that S Suresh was made one of the main speakers at a mass BJP rally in September 25, 2016, in which Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, BJP then National President, Amit Shah, and other high level BJP leaders, Central Ministers, and Chief Ministers attended. He said that he was surprised when NIA officers told the reasons for him being targeted by terrorists.
