THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed regarding the disparagement of the Honorable President of India, Draupadi Murmu. The incident reportedly occurred through a Malayalam Facebook post.
Sathish Parannur, the Secretary of the Kerala State SC/ST Protection Committee, has officially registered a complaint against the individual who published the defamatory post on Facebook targeting the President of India, Draupadi Murmu. The complaint has been submitted to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
According to the complaint, an individual using the Facebook profile ‘Pratibha Nair’ shared a post containing disrespectful content along with an image of the President of India in the backdrop of events in Manipur. The complaint asserts that such an act of insulting the President of India and making defamatory insinuations is equivalent to affronting the nation. It further calls for charges, including sedition, against those responsible for this offense.
Sathish Parannur, the complainant, highlighted that covert groups operating under the alias ‘Pratibha Nair’ are striving to foment conflict and disrupt the unity of the country, with the intention of sowing discord in society.
The Chief Minister’s Additional Secretary has confirmed that the complaint has been forwarded to the State Police Chief for a thorough investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the post was shared from a fake Facebook account.
