THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The claim made by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan that there is no crisis in Supplyco is now proving to be inaccurate. During this Onam festival season, only a limited number of subsidized items are available in the Supplycos’ throughout the state. Despite ministers asserting that SupplyCo possesses ample supplies, several people have visited the outlets and left dissatisfied due to the absence of essential products.
At Supplyco Bazaar in Pazhavangadi, Thiruvananthapuram, all customers who came to make purchases returned empty-handed. Out of the 13 listed subsidized items, only 3 were available in the subsidized category. Over the past two weeks, individuals have been visiting the outlet in search of subsidized products, only to leave without success.
If the goods were not accessible through Supplyco, the impending Onam celebrations could potentially lead to a crisis for the middle-class populace. Reports suggest that all Supplyco stores throughout the state are dealing with the same issue.
