Malappuram: A poor minor girl was brutally thrashed by a Communist party Area Committee member today morning. The girl comes from a nomadic community that lives of selling collecting and selling scraps.
Police have arrested CPI(M) Area Committee member and former Panchayath President, Raghavan, under non bailable charges.
The ten year old girl was assaulted at Edappal in Malappuram District today morning. She is now admitted to the hospital with a deep wound on her forehead. Reports say that she was hit hard with a big sack bundle.
The Child Right Commission has said that it will take strict action against the perpetrator.
