THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas has responded to the controversy surrounding the ‘monthly payment’ issue involving Veena Vijayan, the daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In response to the ongoing ‘monthly payment controversy’ concerning Veena Vijayan, the daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas has provided his perspective on the matter.
Riyas conveyed the media that the CPI(M) is supporting Veena not due to her status as the Chief Minister’s daughter, but rather because of her innocence. He emphasized that CPI(M) Party Secretary MV Govindan has already addressed the key aspects of the ‘monthly payment controversy’. While many have raised allegations against Veena, Riyas admitted to not possessing any direct answers to these claims.
He expressed his concern regarding the intentional involvement of individuals in controversies, deeming it unfair. He pointed out that the details provided in Veena’s election nomination papers were accessible to all. Riyas blamed that regardless of whether leaders respond to the allegations or not, the media tends to create news out of such situations.
At the same time, Riyas underlined that the party’s support for Veena is primarily based on her perceived innocence. He also raised the question of whether the allegations would be retracted if documents confirming the completion of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) process were presented to Veena.
He also emphasized that those who have made the allegations should be prepared to apologize to the public if it is proven that Veena did not engage in any wrongdoing.
