Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran Congress leader, Ramesh Chennithala, is clearly dissatisfied for not including him in the newly reconstituted, Congress Working Committee (CWC), which is the highest decision making body of the party. Instead of including him in the CWC, the Congress leadership named him as a permanent invitee to the CWC. Ramesh Chennithala held the position of permanent invitee way back in 2004.
Ramesh Chennithala said that he would make a statement about his exclusion from the CWC after the bye election at Puthupally. The priority now is the bye election. Response to the other issue will be made after 6th September.
The Congress party had inducted leaders like Shashi Tharoor, AK Antony, and KC Venugopal from Kerala in the CWC and kept senior leader Ramesh Chennithala at bay from the most powerful decision making body of the grand old party.
Ramesh Chennithala said that he would make a strong statement against his decision after the bye election.
The Congress leadership is trying to pacify the senior leaders who have been rejected a seat at the CWC. It is believed that Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge, will directly speak to these leaders. The party will try to accommodate them into other responsibilities or positions.
AICC General Secretary, KC Venugopa, said that if Chennithala has any dissatisfaction with the party’s decision then it would be solved. Opposition Leader, VD Satheesan, remarked that Chennithala is a leader, who will always stand by the decision of the national leadership of the party.
