Muvattupuzha: In a significant development, the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court, has accepted a law suit filed against Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, and his daughter, Veena Vijayan, in the monthly payment issue.
The case was filed by social activist Girish Babu at the Vigilance Court. The complainant has accused the duo of criminal activities and filed the case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Vigilance court accepted the suit under the file number CMP.1546/23.
Twelve individuals are named as accused in the suit filed by Girish Babu.
Chief Minister’s daughter and her company Exalogic are alleged to have received payment of Rs.1.72 crores over a span of three years from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited. It is believed that the monthly payment was for political benefits as there is no evidence that Veena Vijayan or her company had rendered any service to CMRL.
It was also revealed that Exalogic has not paid GST on the payment received by CMRL, as required by a company if it has delivered any service on a payment. Exalogic and CMRL had entered in to a contract, which states that Exalogic would provide marketing consultancy service to CMRL. However, subsequent investigation by the Income Tax found out that no such services were provided.
