Kottayam: BJP State President, K Surendran, lashed out against Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, for his continued silence in the corruption allegations raised against him and also the communist party. Surendran said that the CM is trying to escape from the monthly payment controversy and also the Karuvannur Bank scam.
Surendran said that Rs.300 crores, swindled in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam, belongs to poor people and not to Ambani or Adani.
The BJP leader said that the CM, while speaking at the Puthupally bye election, spoke only about Sangh Parivar and assassination of Mahatma Gandhi but did not utter a word about the monthly payment controversy or the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam.
Surendran also criticized CM’s baseless allegation that Congress and BJP are working together. The BJP leader said that the CM was trying to divert attention from basic issues. The CM has not answered the allegations of taking payment from CMRL or in the bank scam.
The BJP State President said that the CM has already signaled the Congress to stand together with the communist party if an investigation is launched in the corruption allegation. He said that Congress is the natural ally of the CPI(M).
K Surendran also asked if getting a second term in power a license to do corruption. Is the CM saying that if elected for a second term means that the people must not believe the investigations and findings done by the agencies and the proceedings of the court?
The BJP leader alleged that Higher Education Minister, R Bindu, has close relationship with those involved in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. Those involved in the scam had given huge help to R Bindu during her election campaign, Surendran alleged.
He also said that not only MLA Modieen, but also two district secretaries of CPI(M) and a leading communist leader from Kannur also have involvement in the Rs.300 crores bank scam.
