Alappuzha: Senior communist leader and former Minister, G Sudhakaran, has taken a dig at Assembly Speaker, AN Shamseer, during a function organized as part of Onam celebrations in Alappuzha. Sudhakaran said that it is better to leave beliefs as it is.
G Sudhakaran added that if one does not have deep understanding about something, then he must not give an opinion on it. Some speak whatever comes to their mind because they do not have clear understanding of the ideology.
AN Shamseer’s remarks that Lord Ganapathy and Hindu Puranas are myths and an hindrance to social progress led to a backlash from Hindu community. Unfortunately, the CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, also supported AN Shamseer’s anti-Hindu statements. The Hindu community is upset after repeated insults from communist leaders. It was clearly evident during the Ganesholsavam celebrations when many celebrities including movie actors and actresses expressed their displeasure against the Speaker’s statements.
AN Shamseer has still not tendered an apology to the Hindu community. The communist party also, in support to AN Shamseer, has not issued any form of apology to the Hindu community.
