Thiruvananthapuram: Dr. Somnath, the Chairman of ISRO, undertook a visit to the Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Devi Temple located at Pournamikavu in Venganoor, Vizhinjam. As per the planned schedule, he arrived at approximately 10:30 in the morning to actively participate in a specially arranged pooja. This observance holds significance as, since the inception of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, Dr. Somnath has consistently marked each full moon day to perform this significant ritual.
Dr. Somnath’s recent journey brought him to Thiruvananthapuram, with his arrival occurring the previous night at 10:40 pm. The capital city warmly embraced his presence, orchestrating an elaborate reception in his honor. A gesture of welcome was extended by offering a miniature representation Pragyan rover, along with the traditional Ponnada.
Distinguished figures, including Dr. V. Narayanan, Director of LPSC, and Unnikrishnan Nair, Director of VSSE, were also in attendance. Addressing the media, Somnath shared his intention to reveal additional information and imagery pertaining to the Chandrayaan mission in the coming days.
