Kochi: Actor Unni Mukundan praised ISRO Chairman S Somanath for his clear stand on his beliefs. Unni Mukundan says in a Facebook post that Dr. Somnath clearly states that the existence of spirituality cannot be denied in the presence of science.

‘Says the man who took us to the moon! The existence of spirituality in the presence of science cannot be denied’, writes Unni Mukundan. After Chandrayaan 3’s success, Indian Space Research Organization Chairman S. Somnath on Sunday had visited Pournamikavu Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Temple in Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram.

ISRO Chief expressed his unique perspective on the synergy between science and spirituality saying that science and belief are two different entities and that there is no need to mix the two. He said that going to the temple was his personal matter and no harm was done to Science because of that. Visiting the temple is a part of gathering mental and spiritual strength. That has nothing to do with the Chandrayaan mission.

He further said, “I am an explorer. I explore the Moon. I explore the inner space. So it’s a part of the journey of my life to explore both science and spirituality. So I visit many temples and I read many scriptures. So try to find the meaning of our existence and our journey in this cosmos. So it’s a part of the culture that we are all built to explore, find out the inner self as well as outer self. So for the outer, I do science, for the inner I come to temples,” he told mediapersons.
