Thiruvananthapuram: Onam celebrations this year will be spend in sweltering heat. After the monsoon became a no-show, the heat has caught up in the state. Now, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for six districts about possible rise in the temperature.
The warning has been issued for six districts – Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kannur. It is forecasted that the mercury could rise by 2 to 5 degree Celsius.
The IMD has forecasted temperature might rise to 36 degree Celsius in Kollam, 35 degree Celsius in Kottayam, 34 degree Celsius in Alappuzha, Kannur, and Pathanamthitta. The capital city might see temperature rising up to 33 degree Celsius.
As the heat rises it would be advisable to keep yourself hydrated and try not to venture out in the Sun for too long.
