Kozhikode: The heat in Kerala is punishing and unbearable. Yet, thousands of people braved the unforgiving heat and assembled at the seashore in Kozhikode to get a glimpse of Narendra Modi and hear him speak.
The Prime Minister gave a rousing speech to the people of Kozhikode and tore into both the Communist and Congress parties for the financial woes, political violence and also the anti-Hindu stance of the communist government.
Commenting on the Sabarimala issue, Narendra Modi said, “BJP will try its best to keep the traditions of Kerala before the Supreme Court. Our government will also try that issues related to faith and beliefs get constitutional protection.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks on Ayyappa devotees for protesting against government actions. He said that lathi charges by the police on innocent devotees would not be accepted. He said that some people with vested interests were using the Supreme Court verdict to serve their personal interests.
Narendra Modi said, “If people in our own country will be lathi charged for following hundred-year-old traditions, then it will be wrong.”
He also made fun of the Congress and Communists for speaking about woman empowerment when they joined hands to defend the brutal and barbaric practice of Triple Talak against women.
He said that the Congress-led United Democratic Front leaders have been involved in ice-cream case and solar scam case and thus Congress has no moral ground to speak for women empowerment. Both the ice-cream case and solar case involved leaders sexually exploiting women.
Narendra Modi also lashed out against the culture of political violence in Kerala. He said, “I want to ask the outdated communists and fake liberals – why are you silent on political violence in Kerala? What are your compulsions? I assure my fellow BJP workers that your struggles won’t go in vain. Their bullying won’t weaken us. “
The Prime Minister also criticized both Congress and Communist leaders for their stance during the standoff between India and Pakistan.
He said, “Our opposition leaders are now heroes in Pakistan, where their speeches are quoted, and their statements used freely by the leadership there to discredit India. “
