THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sobha Surendran vehemently criticized the Kerala Chief Minister following Swapna Suresh’s exclusive interview on Janam TV, where she talked about Pinarayi Vijayan’s ‘benami’ business connections in Gulf countries. Sobha Surendran said that Pinarayi Vijayan is scared that PM Modi would find out if he hides money in Kerala. That is why he is establishing benami companies abroad. Sobha Surendan expressed her views while talking to media persons.
She highlighted the weakened state of opposition in Kerala, expressing doubts about its ability to question the LDF government effectively. Sobha added that various sectors in the state have suffered due to the Kerala government’s neglect, with traditional industries facing decline and a looming unemployment crisis. She accused both the Left and Right political fronts as being responsible for the current state of affairs in Kerala.
Sobha also noted that even life-saving medicine companies have been coerced into corruption by the Kerala government. She emphasized that many government hospitals lack essential emergency medicines, while the state’s most active sector is liquor sales, allegedly facilitated by government connivance with the drug lobby.
Addressing the farmers’ issue in Kerala, Sobha confirmed actor Jayasurya’s claims that thousands of farmers have not received payments for paddy procured by Supplyco. She criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his extravagant helicopter hire during this financial crisis and questioned the source of funds for this expense.
Sobha further criticized the Leader of the Opposition, V. D. Satheesan, accusing him of covertly favoring Pinarayi Vijayan instead of acting as an effective opposition leader.
Regarding the negligence of Kerala’s paddy farmers, Sobha highlighted that the state Food Minister and Agriculture Minister are attempting to shift blame onto the Central government, despite clearances of all related funds by the central authorities. Sobha condemned the Chief Minister, asserting that he has become shameless in employing such evasion tactics.
