Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is hosting the inaugural International Calligraphy Festival, marking the state as the venue for this prestigious event. The festival is scheduled to take place in Kochi from October 2nd to 5th, showcasing the artistry of calligraphers from around the globe. The International Calligraphy Festival in Kerala is organised through a collaborative effort between the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy and the Kachatathapa Foundation, under the leadership of Narayana Bhattathiri. Renowned calligraphy artists from different countries and other states of India will participate in the event.
Indeed, calligraphy is a versatile art form that enhances the aesthetic and emotional appeal in various fields, including art, literature, cinema, advertising, and more. The festival will feature workshops, keynote lectures, live demos, exhibitions, and art performances. This festival offers a golden opportunity to learn calligraphy in various scripts, including Malayalam, Devanagari, English, Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew, Irani, and Korean.
Additionally, there will be an exhibition featuring approximately 150 calligraphy pieces in various languages from around the world. The event will host sixteen Indian calligraphers as special guests, and it will see active participation from numerous students representing various colleges across India.
