THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is reported that the Crime Branch has issued a notice to Bindulekha, the wife of former DIG S Surendran, in connection with the antique fraud case linked to Monson Mavunkal. She has been summoned to appear at the Crime Branch office in Kalamassery for questioning on September 8 due to suspected financial transactions that occurred in relation to the scam at Surendran’s residence.
Additionally, the Crime Branch plans to interrogate sculptor Santhosh, who supplied the counterfeit antiques to Monson, in the coming days.
Sculptor Santhosh, initially considered a witness in the case, has now been added to the list of accused by the Crime Branch.
New developments in the case have unveiled the close relationship between former DIG S Surendran and his family members with Monson. Investigations have apparently uncovered substantial financial transactions between the parties. Initially, Surendran was named as one of the accused in the case, along with his wife.
The accused individuals have reportedly begun seeking anticipatory bail to avoid potential arrest.
