Kottayam: Chandy Oommen, the UDF candidate, has dealt a severe blow to the hopes of the CPI(M) in Puthuppally, securing a commanding lead of more than 37,000 votes. This victory surpasses Oommen Chandy’s previous record margin in Puthuppally. As of now, the vote count is still ongoing.
Oommen Chandy’s most significant triumph in Puthuppally occurred in 2011 when he won by a margin of 33,255 votes against Suja Susan George of the CPI(M). The latest results reveal a substantial decline in vote share of the LDF candidate, even within his own Mannarkkadu panchayat.
