THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a recent development in the solar case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered a conspiracy aimed at defaming the former Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy (recently passed away), in connection with a sexual harassment case linked to the solar scam.
The CBI explained the conspiracy in the report submitted to the court that acquitted Oommen Chandy. According to the report submitted in court, the CBI argued that K.B. Ganesh Kumar, MLA, and his relative, C. Manoj Kumar, alias Saranya Manoj, added Oommen Chandy’s name to the case. The CBI pointed out that Oommen Chandy’s name was not mentioned in the original letter written by the complainant; it was added later.
The complainant wrote the letter while the victim was serving a jail term in connection with the solar scam. According to the CBI, Oommen Chandy’s name was later added to this letter, and Ganesh Kumar confiscated the original document with the help of his assistant.
The CBI obtained a statement from Saranya Manoj, who stated that the intermediary, who entered the situation later, was given two of the letters. It was this intermediary who assisted the complainant in pursuing the case further, ultimately leading to the case being transferred to the CBI.
Subsequently, the CBI found no evidence to support the claim that the complainant was sexually harassed at Cliff House. The CBI report also mentioned that P.C. George was compelled to act as a witness in the case, although he denied providing false testimony.
