Thiruvananthapuram: It is now common knowledge that communists have a disdain for freedom of speech where ever they are in power. In Kerala, their hatred for voices against them has reached its zenith especially during election season.
The recent intolerance of communists was on show yesterday, when Hari Nair was arrested under nonbaliable offence for sharing a troll that made fun of CPI(M) Palakkad candidate, M. B. Rajesh’s election campaign.
During the election campaign, some of his supporters were spotted carrying long swords on their motor bikes. These were captured on camera and widely circulated in social media.
The embarrassment this caused to Pinarayi Vijayan was too much to for him to digest. The police moved swiftly and arrested Hari Nair for trolling the incident on his Facebook account.
Surprisingly, He was arrested under section 153A, which used to charge anyone causing enmity between communities or classes, and is behind bars now. However, many experts are wondering how Hair Nair can be booked under 153A because his post has nothing to cause any enmity between any classes or communities.
BJP State President, Sreedharan Pillai, has come down heavily against this intolerance and fascist tendencies of the communist government. He said that RSS had survived Indira Raj and surviving the present Vijayan Raj is simple.
He said that where ever communist party is in absolute power, they have cruelly suppressed dissenting voices against them. No opposition parties exist n communist ruled nations. Whatever opposition is there, is in name only.
Sreedharan Pillai reminded that communist activists had made vulgar comments and Facebook posts against BJP leaders. Thiruvananthapuram candidate, Kummanam Rajasekharan, was trolled in the most inhumane way. He was made fun of his color and his simplicity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trolled in the most heinous way by communist activists and no action was ever taken against it.
NDA candidate from Erankulam, Alphons Kannanthanam, also lashed out against the government’s move. He said that people must have the heart to take in criticism.
Earlier, actor Biju Menon was viciously attacked on his Facebook for supporting the NDA candidate from Thrissur and movie-actor turned politician, Suresh Gopi.
The social media has also erupted in support of Hari Nair for his right to freedom of speech.
