THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KR Ajay has expressed his willingness to issue a formal apology in court for assaulting the bus owner in Thiruvarppu. Ajay filed an affidavit in the High Court seeking exemption from contempt of court charges.

The incident which happened in June, involved the disruption of a private bus service by CITU leaders on the Thiruvarppu-Kottayam route. CITU leaders disrupted the bus operations by placing their union flags on bus. The bus owner, facing the threat of losing his livelihood, resorted to selling lottery tickets in front of his bus as a form of protest.

The bus owner, Raj Mohan, later lodged a complaint with the High Court, requesting police protection to resume the bus service.

Subsequently, Raj Mohan resumed the service under police protection following a court order. However, some CITU leaders, including KR Ajay, challenged the court order and physically assaulted Raj Mohan in the presence of police officers assigned to provide protection.

In response, the bus owner initiated another legal case in the High Court.

Now, CITU leader Ajay has declared his intention to offer a formal apology in open court for his actions, which involved both the assault on the bus owner and the disruption of the bus service. Ajay’s affidavit, filed in the High Court, seeks exemption from potential contempt of court charges.
