Kochi: Reports suggest that the CPI(M) is in a secret alliance with the Muslim communal party SDPI for a pact to help the communist party win in three constituencies. Surprisingly, this alliance comes within a year of the brutal murder of SFI leader, Abhimanu, by the same Muslim fundamental group.
CPI(M) hopes to gain in three constituencies – Ernakulam, Chalakudy, and Alappuzha – by joining hands with the communal party. Though, SDPI candidates are contesting from these constituencies, their campaign is deliberately weak in order to help transfer their votes to the communist party.
BJP is the common enemy of both the CPI(M) and SDPI.
The secret pact between the two parties comes after the BJP candidates in the three constituencies were making huge gains among the voters. Former Public Service Commission, K. S. Radhakrishnan, is the BJP candidate in Alappuzha, Union Minister of State, Alphons Kannanthanam, is contesting from Ernakulam and K. N. Radhakrishnan is the BJP contestant in Chalakudy.
SDPI has been accused of spreading Islamic fundamentalism in Kerala. It is the political arm of the Popular Front of India (PFI), an extremist group. PFI was behind the attack of a Professor in Muvatuppuzha in which his hand was chopped off.
SDPI organized a violent protest in front of the Kerala High Court in Kochi during the trial of a Love Jihad case. The Kerala police has not taken much action against the miscreants till date.
This is not the first time that CPI(M) is making alliance with Muslim extremists groups. Earlier the communist party was in alliance with the party of Coimbatore and Bangalore blasts accused, Abdul Nazer Mahdani.
