Kalpetta: After independent candidate from Amethi raised objections against the nomination papers filed by Rahul Gandhi, the NDA candidate in Wayanad, Thushar Vellappally, has written to the Chief Election Officer of Kerala to review the nomination of the Congress party.
In the written statement to the election officer, Thushar writes, “It’s understood that Rahul Gandhi is having passport of a foreign country also. He didn’t disclose this in the nomination filed or in the affidavit.”

Rahul Gandhi is accused of stating that he is a citizen of the United Kingdom in official papers for incorporating a company in that country. According to Indian law, a person holding the citizenship of a foreign country cannot contest in elections in India.
Besides, Rahul Gandhi’s there is a confusion about his educational qualification. Dhruv Lal has also demanded Rahul Gandhi to present the original certificates to clear the doubts.
The BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy, has been questioning the Gandhi scion’s citizenship since 2015. The issue is under investigation by the Home Ministry at the moment.
Now, Thushar Vellappally has come out accusing Rahul Gandhi of holding passport of another country and the same is not reported in his nomination papers. If proved, this could lead to serious implication to the national president of Congress party.
