Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of senior RSS worker PP Mukundan. “Mukundan ji will be remembered for his simplicity and hard work. People from all walks of life respected him for his intelligence and grassroots connection. He is a person who worked hard to strengthen BJP in Kerala. Saddened by his loss ‘Om Shanti’. PM Modi expressed his grief written in Malayalam through ‘X’.
PP Mukundan was one of the most powerful leaders of the BJP. Many prominent people have expressed their condolence over the death of PP Mukundan.
BJP National President JP Nadda wrote on X, “The demise of Mukundan ji is an irreparable loss to the BJP family. Possessing excellent organizational skills, he contributed greatly to the strengthening of the BJP in Kerala. Sincere condolences to the family. ‘Om Shanti’.”
Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar paid his tributes through social media. “His great services to the movement will forever be remembered. Shares the grief of family members and party supporters. ‘Om Shanti’.”
PP Mukundan was the strongest face of BJP. He entered public service as an RSS Pracharak while he was a student. He was an RSS state Pramukh and was a member of the BJP’s national executive committee for a long time.
While he was working as Thrissur District Pracharak, in 1975, he was jailed along with CK Padmanabhan for working against the Emergency. He, who worked at various levels of the RSS, was appointed as the state BJP’s organizational secretary in 1991. He held that title till 2005 and also held the charge as BJP’s South Temple Secretary till 2007.
PP Mukundan had been on hiatus for a long time due to age-related health problems. He died while undergoing treatment for respiratory ailments. With the loss of PP Mukundan, an era of BJP in Kerala is coming to an end.
