THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have intensified their investigation and search for young women who cheated people by impersonating the Public Service Commission (PSC). These women extorted approximately Rs 35 lakh by promising job opportunities, including positions in police intelligence departments.
It has been reported that R. Rajalakshmi from Adoor and Rashmi from Ambalur, Thrissur, along with their friends, were involved in this fraudulent scheme. They fabricated appointment orders for various departments, such as Income Tax, Vigilance, and GST, in order to deceive people.
By offering these fake job opportunities and presenting counterfeit appointment letters, they collected Rs 5 lakh from some aspiring candidates. The Commissioner, CH Nagaraj, discovered this extortion operation.
The accused gathered information about potential candidates through WhatsApp groups, contacted them, and gained their trust. Subsequently, the accused women received the money through online transactions.
The police have issued a lookout notice to locate the accused individuals.
