Hyderabad: A report said that Maoist leader in charge of Western Ghat special zone, Sanjay Deepak Roa (60) has been arrested in Hyderabad. He was heading the Western Ghats operations ever since the death of Manivasagam in an encounter in Palakkad in 2019.
The Central Committee of Maoists brought Sanjay Deepak Rao to head the Western Ghat special zone in a bid to strengthen Maoists activities in the Southern States.
The Western Ghats special zone comprises Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka and the Trijunction jungle. Sanjay Deepak Rao’s wife was also nabbed in Karnataka.
