Alappuzha: According to a report, the rift between the two communist parties in LDF was aggravated after CPI(M) district secretary of Alappuzha, R Nassar, came down heavily against party rebels led by Ramangiri Panchayat President, Rajendrakumar. Nassar also took a dig at CPI and said that the rebels joined a revisionist party.
The report added that CPI(M) leader, Nassar, said that Rajendrakumar had done corruption while he was the local secretary of the party. Nassar accused Rajendrakumar of corruption in the public planning projects and added that the party had taken action against him twice and then took him back. Rajendrakumar was also accused of doing group activities against the party and not giving party levies.
Nassar also refuted the claim that hundreds of CPI(M) activists had resigned from the party. He said that those who claim to have left the party were not members of CPI(M), said the report.
The report said that Nassar also took a dig at CPI without naming the party. Nassar said that those who were ousted joined a revisionist party. The Communist Party of India was split in 1964 and Communist Party of India (Marxist) was formed.
