Ernakulam: BJP State President, K Surendran, slammed Minister of Industries, P Rajeev, MLAs and the District Collector for boycotting the inauguration of PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Surendran demanded to know the reason why the state ministers, MLAs, and District Collector boycotted program.
Surendran said that there are 18 job categories in Kerala that will get financial benefit through the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Even then the state ministers, MLAs and the District Collector boycotted the event at Kochi, which was part of the seventy locations in the country that joined the inauguration ceremony via live streaming.
K Surendran said that the program was attended by the Prime Minister and it must be made clear why Minister P Rajeev, MLAs and the Collector boycotted it.
The BJP leaders said that this shows the level of interest of communist party and the District Collector towards the poor and marginalized people.
The Prime Minister launched the scheme today at around 11 am at India International Convention and Expo Center in New Delhi. Leaders, officials and people participated in the inauguration virtually from across the country.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a new scheme to provide support to traditional artisans and craftspeople. It will benefit individuals skilled in traditional craftsmanship, particularly from OBC communities. The beneficiaries include weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, laundry workers, barbers, and their families. Rs. 13,000 crores is earmarked for the scheme. The beneficiaries will be provided loan assistance at a minimum interest rate and without collateral.
It is estimated that 30 lakh families will benefit from the scheme.
