Thrissur: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M) activists launched violence on media workers who had gathered to report on an inspection conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at Ayyanthole Bank in Thrissur.
Today, the Enforcement Directorate conducted an extensive inspection at cooperative banks in Thrissur, focusing on the fraudulent activities linked to Satish Kumar, who is the main accused in the Karuvannur bank fraud case. Preliminary findings by the ED have revealed that approximately Rs 40 crore in black money was laundered over a period of ten years.
Satish Kumar allegedly deposited the illicit funds into five accounts, both in his own name and the names of his family members, and withdrew them. These findings have prompted the ED to intensify its scrutiny of the case.
