Thrissur: An evaluation meeting to analyse the matters related to the smooth functioning of Thrissur Pooram will be held this evening. The meeting will be headed by district Collector T V Anupama at collectorate at 3 pm. Devaswom representatives will attend the meeting to express their views in this regard.
Supreme Court had produced a verdict in favour of both Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu devaswoms and had granted permission to conduct the traditional display of fireworks during Thrissur Pooram. The verdict says, the crackers made as per the stipulation of Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation can be used. Fireworks can be performed as per traditions.
So, as there is no ban on firecrackers, Thrissur Pooram will be colourful with all its fervour. The meeting will focus on the court verdict and traditions.
Pooram will be celebrated on May 13 this year.
