THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid criticism from the BJP and Congress, the helicopter hired for Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s journey has reached Thiruvananthapuram. It has been reported that the rental cost for the helicopter is Rs. 80 lakh per month. The helicopter was hired from Chipsan Aviation Helicopter Services.
According to the agreement, the Chief Minister is entitled to 25 hours of travel in the helicopter for the monthly cost of Rs. 80 lakh. Any additional hours beyond this, will incur an extra charge of Rs. 90,000 per hour.
Meanwhile, the opposition party has vehemently criticized Pinarayi Vijayan for this extravagant expenditure. However, the government has stated that the helicopter was hired for various essential purposes, including disaster management, relief operations, Maoist surveillance, and rescue missions in disaster-stricken areas.
The decision has sparked widespread criticism from the BJP and Congress, with concerns raised about Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s extensive monthly expenditure of Rs. 80 lakh amid the ongoing financial crisis.
